Zakat Distribution Program on Human Development in South Sumatra Province

The purpose of this study is to test and analyze the role of zakat distribution on human development in South Sumatra Province. The research was conducted at BAZNAS South Sumatra through survey and questionnaire to 200 mustahik households who received zakat assistance program. The analysis method uses Two Stage Least Squares (TSLS). There are two structural equations formed, namely human development structural equation and zakat distribution structural equation. The originality of this research is that it focuses on the aspects of zakat distribution and human development, including education, health, economy and adding the social aspects of humanity and piety. The result shows that first, zakat distribution, education, health, social humanity, economy, piety and pious South Sumatra significantly affect human development, and second, human development, smart South Sumatra, healthy South Sumatra, caring South Sumatra, prosperous South Sumatra, and pious South Sumatra significantly affect zakat distribution.
